Treviso Airport

Also referred to as Treviso-Sant’Angelo, Treviso Airport is one of the most important airports not only in Treviso but also in the larger Italian nation. It is located about 3 kilometers on the southwestern side of Treviso city which is located within the Treviso province in Italy. Ever since inception, this airport has been able to expand its services and products so as to cover a wider customer scope.

The majority of the airlines that run flight operations love to refer to Treviso Airport as Venice Treviso. The name was coined from the fact that this airport is located approximately 20 kilometers from the nearby city of Venice. Ever since it was started, the number of airlines has been on the increase. Each year a new airline comes in to offer services at this airport.

The facilities

There are a plethora of facilities that you can expect to get. In the year 2007, a new terminal that was named Antonio Canova was built at the airport. It was named after one of the famous artists in Italy. It  resides at an elevation of about 18 meters above the sea level. It has got one runway made of asphalt that measures 2420 by 44 meters. Apart from the terminal, there are also other facilities that you will find at the airport. For instance, is a passenger exchange office that is available at the airport. Other facilities that you can expect to find at the airport include an automatic teller machine, bars, restaurant, wireless internet connection and washrooms.

Passenger numbers

Ever since inception, the number of passengers has been increasing exponentially. In the year 2011, it recorded a total of 1,077,505 passengers. This was a drop from the 2,152, 163 passengers that passed this airport in the year 2010. This drop in passenger numbers was caused by the closure of the airport due to a major upgrade that was to be conducted between June and December 2011. The numbers are however expected to rise this year.

Airlines and global destinations

The number of international airlines that serve the aiport has been on the increase ever since it was opened. There are even some of them which have set this airport as their base operation hub in not only in Treviso but the larger Italian nation. Some of the most prominent airlines that serve this airport include Germanwings, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Wizz Air Ukraine and Transavia.com. There are still many other airlines that are expected to bring over their services.

Ground transportation

This airport is not just about flights and flight operations. You most definitely need some convenient means through which you can move from the city center to the airport and back without much hassle. That therefore calls for proper ground transportation means. There are many shuttle buses and taxis that you will find outside the passenger terminal at the airport. The shuttle buses operate on a daily basis ferrying people to the city center and from the city center to the airport. They might just come in handy, if at all you are in need of round the clock transportation.

If at all you require reliable and executive transportation services, you can avail the services of car rental companies. There are many such companies that run their services here on a daily basis.
